We decided to use Kara as the The Spirit of Friendship Past because it made sense to have the first one of the spirits as the one who was most often trying to get Bobby to realize he will always have someone with him that cares about him. This is also he only one of the four spirit visits where Bobby isn't left feeling upset, and seeing how much he loves his mother, I wanted to have this being the easiest visit to get through.

The song that got used here was one Dipper and I recorded previously, but we used it here to illustrate how much the two cared for each other many years ago.
