This is a contest entry I made for a contest down at Lake Valor. I had to design a Mega-Evo for a winter themed Pokemon, and I chose Beartic.
Mega Beartic
Type: Ice/Fighting
Ability: Muscle Packed (Gains resistance to Fighting type moves.)
Stats:
HP: 125
Attack: 125
Defense: 145
Sp. Attack: 70
Sp. Defense: 100
Speed: 50
With Mega Beartic, I was thinking about what his main feature was, and of course that would arguably be those gigantic paws of his. With the paws in mind I wanted to do something involving them, and eventually I came to the idea of making a Heavyweight Boxer type MegaEvo for Beartic. For his design, I did what I normally did: Made something big and bulky. However I wanted to avoid making a Mega-evo that was outright fat, and was trying to go for a more barrel chested creature. Also, I wanted to design an Ice Type that would actually be useable in the metagame Fighting type covers quite a lot of Ice type's weaknesses, plus the ability covers his Fighting Type weakness.
I wanted to design this monster as one who can easily take hits, and send them out even easier. I kept the speed and Sp. Attack the same since it's meant to be a physical tank instead of a special one.

Then again, does it really need the extra speed if it can tank through blows that would have killed it in one hit otherwise. If fighting resistance isn't enough, what about adding rock and steel resistances? I just think speed is an insanely overrated stat that gets treated as way more important than it is.
One of Ice's biggest problems is it's amount of weaknesses, though. I feel like giving Mega Beartic resistances to Fighting, Rock and Steel would help a LOT, possibly moreso than speed because now it only has to worry about fire. That's mostly if you nix the fighting type and keep it pure ice, though. If you DID keep fighting, then yes, speed would help, but IMO, getting rid of its weaknesses is a big help, too.
