Here is one more "Front & Back" comic for 2014.
It's been four years since I got demoted from full-time to part-time work as a janitor, and since then I'd been looking for a better job (without much success - due to America's economy). And I have been earning Florida's 'Minimum Wage' - $7.93 an hour - working only 17.5 hours a week, earning a weekly paycheck (after taxes) of barely over $118.00 (which I can't exactly live on). And in the seven years I'd been an employee for the company, I had not received any holiday bonuses.
The only time I got additional money came in the form of tips (ranging from $5.00 to $10.00) from some of the condo residents whose exteriors I would clean on a regular basis. Only now, I get fewer tips, as some of the residents had either moved away or passed away.
Then, earlier this month, I had learned that Florida was finally going to increase its 'Minimum Wage' in January, 2015. That was the 'good news'... the 'bad news' is it was only going to increase twelve cents to $8.05 an hour.. That meant that my weekly paycheck was only going to increase by around $2.00, for a total (after taxes) of $120.00 - which, in my opinion, is a literal 'drop in the ocean'!
Financially speaking, I'm on the threshold of possibly filing for bankruptcy, if things do not improve for me in the near future. Ergo, I am seriously considering making a RL version of the T-shirt my alternate feline 'fursona' is wearing in my latest "F&B" image (even though I might run the risk of getting fired from my crummy, low-paying job). I'd probably get more money from the tippers than from the cheapskates I work for...
