You know, if the dino-killer space rock was smaller, Australia was isolated from the rest of the world by a good amount at the time, so there was a chance that dinosaurs could have theoretically survived into modern times.

Thank you! Also if you want some technical tidbits, the lore in my world has dinosaurs (known as Reptids) in extremely remote areas. Maya is from Taanizaria, the land-down-under equivalent of my story, and those creatures are especially prevalent there.
