A bridge crane carries a pre-heated ladle to transport liquid steel (at 2900 degrees) from their arc furnace to the continuous caster to make steel plate. Light reflecting off the lid on the ladle comes from the heat which makes it incandescent. It takes a lot of people and companies to make all this happen, all of which means jobs!
Note the crane capacity marking of 225 tons. That's 450,000 pounds folks. There will be no half million pound cranes at the useless shit that replaces this mill.
Yes, replaces: the mill was just sold to be demolished and "re-developed" into something nice and clean, like a shopping center. And maybe nice designer condos! Ooooh, lovely.
