(I'll keep the description as spoiler free as possible for those who haven't seen the movie or read the book)
My friends and I went to see the Hobbit yesterday. Afterwards, I described to NewEnglander that one of the scenes in the book was completely cut from the movie and a certain character was completely and utterly downplayed.
Due to the character that said scene involves, he said that Sheila would be "PISSED". Which he's completely correct about. She would be. XD
I... just had to draw Sheila's reaction. XD
As for me, I enjoyed the movie. Much more than I did the Desolation of Smaug for sure.
I read the book, so I was completely aware of the death of one of my favorite characters... though I still cried and got depressed seeing it on the big screen. >_>

Haven't really read - or to be honest, enjoyed - The Hobbit(1), so I had to use my Google-fu to look up the name on Sheila's T-shirt to understand its significance.
I can see why she's pissed now
(1) Yeah, I live in the country where it AND Lord of the Rings was filmed, and I'm not really interested in either book or film, let alone anything else Tolkein.

Pretty sure Dain didn't have a large part because he was a completely CGI character (dunno why they just didn't put an actor in prosthetics and dub him over with Billy Connolly (and use a stunt double for battle scenes), it not like he looks much like Billy) due to Billy having Parkinson's disease
