Did he have a cage or was he left out?

He had a cage we put him in at night, which had a hollowed out log with shredded tissue paper and a washcloth that he made a nest out of. He got too smart though and learned how to pop the spring off the latch...I learned this when he woke me up by chewing on my ear :v

Flying squirrels actually make pretty amazing pets. They can learn their names, they come when called, they only really bite/get fussy if you try to wrap your hands around them, it makes em' panic big time, you just kinda have to let them crawl into your hand of their own will. I had to wear a heavy winter glove to handle him when I had to trim his nails because he became a whirlwind of teeth and hate.

Since they're rodents, if you feed them and such they're pretty darned loyal and kinda cling to you

You can get them from breeders as far as I know in North/South Carolina, I got Sandy from a breeder in Myrtle Beach, SC, and Rocky was a rescue

Must be tough to trim a tiny rodents nails

Naw you just use the finger nail clippers for infants and just snip the tips. That way they dont tear your arms/legs up so badly when they climb up you, and it prevents them from climbing the walls/ceiling .x.;

One time I gave him a fortune cookie, and my little brother walked up to him to watch, and he just crammed the remnants in his mouth and stared at him like "DA' FUCK YOU LOOKIN' AT? KEEP WALKIN'."
