So this may have been the first time I used a live model for my artwork. I remember it was Easter at my aunt's house, and one of my cousins wanted to model for this character, though I forget how the topic was brought up or that she even wanted to pose for me. And yes, she really is that fit in real life. And she is that awesome. Later on she posed as Dusk in the Twylight & Dusk portfolio.
Originally the character was supposed to be a fox, as you can see the floofy tail in the sketch version; but she quickly became a badger, which was more suited to her personality, and we came up with the name Kammink.
The colored version was also where I was learning how to do fur texture. In this case I was grafting it on from photos of foxes. I know I used that technique for quite a while, but I eventually stopped doing that as my own pencil fur technique started happening a few years later. Until then, it was a long process using the grafting technique.
Things I didn't like about this picture were her hips and pelvis, simply because there are none, or at least there's no crotch. That was always a gray area for me, but hey, not all women look like how they are drawn anyways. I hadn't learned anthro feet yet either, so her toes are very petite like in real life...and I forgot the straps to her shoes. XD
I do like her expression, hairstyle, and pretty much everything else. I went on to do a photo collage background and other experimental things in Photoshop, which will be posted later. I'm literally trying to post everything I've done in chronological order. =)
