The yarn is 80% acrylic and 20% wool, which means a couple of things.
It's warm and breathable.
It's not itchy, but super soft.
The yarn says it's "machine washable" at a low temperature, but I'd suggest sticking to hand washing to avoid pulling the stitches, but if you put it in a delicates bag it should survive the machine.
The shawl is pretty big too.
It measures a full 64 cm, or 25 inches wide, and 207 cm or 81 inches long, meaning you can wrap it around your shoulders with a little to spare.
