Its that kind of engine that hauled all those troop trains; Were these used in the DDR after WW2?

About 2000 survived the war and were naturally used in the years past . This type were even build till 1948 .

yeah; I read and was told that steam was used until the very late years of the cold war. Those big black and red beasts XD

Btw this locomotive was build from a company called Krauss-Maffei . They build tanks in the ww2 and well they do it today too . But now under the Name Krauss-Maffei Wegmann .

they did do the job... I'm surprised that with the cost of oil they have not made a resurgence...

cooool steam will come back we have the technology to build a fuel efficient one I read that UK built a brand new one

To late for the Company that build that locomotive . But don`t worry they found an other business edge . They build today the Leopard 2 and such things . XD

cool that reminds me I got a record LP of German steam loco sounds It's in Gerrman & narrated in German but still neat to listen to
