OUR NEW BABY KITLINS.
it's a bad picture, but this was a rare moment when he wasn't tearing ass across the room or climbing up my body to smash his face into my face.
LOOK AT HIS LITTLE STRIPY TAIL IT IS SO PRETTY :>
next mission: get the other cat to not hate him.

that is so adorable ;; Thats what I want to happen to gnocchi and lucky. Lucky seems to be more scared than anything >_> we had an accident and gnocchi ran out in front of lucky and lucky just hisses and moans and then hides. BUT ANYWAY. How long did you keep your kitties in separate rooms? And did you have little meetings for them every now and then? or were they finally let out and just ignoring each other for months?
8O I NEED TO KNOW THERE IS HOPE. I also read my kitten book and it says all the steps. It just seems like it should take longer than it should...I dunno. I'm not rushing it.

i TRIED to keep them seperate for about a month, but really it was about a week and a half. usually the new cat (rirry) was in a seperate room and panya was out in the house with us. they could sniff each other through the door. after a few days, we'd let rirray out to explore and put panya in the room to get used to the smell of a rirray.
they really seemed to want to get to know each other, rirry was actually very friendly towards panya, so we let them out early. it didn't go as well as i'd hoped but we just let it go. it was too much to keep locking one cat up, but i showed panya preference, and dan showed rirry preference and somehow it all worked out. rirry is rather carefree and oblivious, so panya would follow her around and make sure she wasn't getting in to things.
but yeah, give them PLENTY OF TIME AND SPACE and they will LOVE EACH OTHER<33 it just takes times, especially when the established cat is dealing with a) a new creature b) a bouncy irratic excitable new creature and c) a crazy INTRUDERCAT :O
just make sure that you keep an eye on them when they first start interacting, make sure that when Gnocci is playing that Lucky doesn't take it too serious and start a real catfight. Other than that, I'd say give them at least a good three months before you give up. Cats are just like that. :D
