For my last 'photo-op' on this the final "Throwback Thursday" of 2014, I have the second of two pictures I'd taken back in December, 1994 (twenty years ago) - when I'd spent my first Christmas as a resident of south Florida.
During that holiday season, I'd visited the Coral Square Mall, and its many shops - including The Disney Store (which is still there), Kay-Bee Toys (which, sadly is not there anymore), Burdine's Department Store (which, since the start of the 21st Century, has been replaced by Macy's), and numerous eateries in the food court (many of which had come and gone, since my first visit).
A lot of holiday displays were put up throughout the mall, mainly promoting its anthropomorphic goodwill ambassador, 'Kris Mouse' (who almost looks like a character out of a typical Rankin-Bass animated holiday special for TV)...
This 'photo-op' depicts a close-up of one of the ceiling banners with the mouse's head in it.
However, ever since those civic groups lodged a complaint against the Coral Square Mall - for not adding any religious symbols to the festive decor - 'Kris Mouse' has not been at this mall (or any other shopping center). In my opinion, those groups are not showing the true holiday spirit...
If you'd like to learn more about the controversy stirred by this mouse, and the protesters against him (and what they think he stands for), check out these two links to articles from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel:

And to everyone at "Fur Affinity"... iFeliz Navidades!
