... I wish I had time to flesh this out... but unless I dream up some more content, namely an ending, I do not have time to dig into my creative mind...
... It was nice to sit and write these snippets though, I do love writing, I just lack the time what with being a self employed costume maker with more customers than I can handle.

While I do not have time to really add to this I do want to jot down new thoughts as they come to me.
The Old Man: I see him as not just a wiseman but as someone who knows the deep mythos of Hyrule.
The Old Man in his prime was a master of magic and fairly skilled warrior, but his heart was always in the task of seeking knowledge and eventually he gave up the sword and much later on his practice in magic. He traveled many lands in his younger years and knows everything of Hyrule and much of the world around it.
He has lived through not one but two Hero's of The Goddess, this Link and the man before him. Through his friendship with the first Hero to pass through his life he came to have a deep understanding of what the Mark of the Goddess (Triforce of Courage) is and how it affects the nature and livelihood of the one who bears it.
He was a large part of Link's life growing up, it seems to be a common thing in the games for Link to lack parents, so perhaps ours too is an orphan of sorts, maybe living with a grandparent or uncle (again, common in the games) that Link is not very close to, but from a young age he formed a kinship with the neighbor, the Old Man, never knowing up until he was a teen that the neighbor had been so close with his prior incarnation.
The Villain: someone of a deep history buried away alongside the Villain himself.
The Villain is a man-like creature, something tall and dark, with a deep and foreboding and yet seemingly beautiful voice (in my dream I believe it was the voice of The Beast from OTGW) this creature is one who takes control of the world in cycles of hundreds, he rules for hundreds of years at a time but then is in need of a deep unreachable sleep buried within the earth for hundreds of years between his rulings so as to replenish his power.
During his times of rest the world outside heals from his reign of terror, and in time always tends to forget he exists at all, save for a few barely reachable remnants that recount his dictatorship.
That is how the Old Man knows who he is, and how he knows this Villain is beyond Link's power, and how he knows exactly what this Villain would do to him as Link is not the first Hero of the Goddess to fall into the Villain's clutches. The Villain hates the Goddesses and any servant of theirs is to meet the worst of fates in his hands.
