My Gold Does Not Glitter
It gets lonely in my tower.
From afar, I silently watch all the townspeople
Go about their lives
And wonder if they ever inquired,
"What secrets does that tower in the distance hold?"
The night is endless in my tower.
I often imagine leaving the safety of solitude
And seek a comrade
To help burden this hidden load
That I've been too reluctant to share.
Very few have been allowed in my tower.
Those brave knights who dared to venture
Through these heavily guarded walls
Were all soon expelled
From fear of becoming vulnerable to their influence.
The air is suffocating in my tower.
This treasure of masked truths I keep
Will one day bury me
Unless I one day enter into the light
And show them the dragon sheltered deep within.
It gets lonely in my tower.
From afar, I silently watch all the townspeople
Go about their lives
And wonder if they ever inquired,
"What secrets does that tower in the distance hold?"
The night is endless in my tower.
I often imagine leaving the safety of solitude
And seek a comrade
To help burden this hidden load
That I've been too reluctant to share.
Very few have been allowed in my tower.
Those brave knights who dared to venture
Through these heavily guarded walls
Were all soon expelled
From fear of becoming vulnerable to their influence.
The air is suffocating in my tower.
This treasure of masked truths I keep
Will one day bury me
Unless I one day enter into the light
And show them the dragon sheltered deep within.
