I tried to have this done sooner (last week) but being the holidays had so much to do and places to go. Which helped me greatly to get out of my slump (which I was already coming out of). Once I got passed the initial under painting I flew through this.
Anyhow, this is Plague-Rat doing a fire dance among other fire dancing furs. Not much to say about this passed that. Fire light is so hard to paint, it causes such extreme contrasts, and changes the colors of... Colors. This one was both fun and challenging.

Yea, a moment of inspiration hit when painting in the smokey background,
I was dabbing the wet paint with a paper-towel to wipe away some of the paint to give the illusions of light and smoke and one of the dabs looked like a cervine. So, I rubbed in the other characters in the still wet background and darkened other spots to further define them. Yet, I wanted them to be vague and smokey, and not attract to much attention from the main subject.
