Honestly even the most well crafted swords isn't sharp enough to harm you like that unless you actively use a cutting motion or put pressure on the blade, just because a sword is a cutting weapon doesn't mean it's near touch harms ya.

Judging by the lines and shading the above blade is double edged and not single edged as you expect of a katana.

double edge katana is pretty pointless lol, its most likely just the lack of intensive study on a katana blade or just a stylized hybrid sword.

The top of the blade looks like a standard Katana (if a little fluid in the division between spine and edge). it's that triangular cut above the Habaki that kinda hints at a double edge
