I laughed pretty hard at this. Now I'm wondering if Jurassic World will have a repeat of that scene, only instead of resulting in death, it'll be Chris Pratt playing 'tag' with his team of Raptors.

At the time there was a small movement to rename deinonychus antirrhopus into velociraptor antirrhopus. Crichton always wanted to be on the bleeding edge of science so he called them velociraptor in his book, convinced the "deinonychus is just a larger breed of velociraptor" folks were right.
It's still not the worst thing wrong with the dinos in the books, that award should go to the sauropods in Lost World not being able to lift their necks.
