The war being over makes it an interesting twist. He knows but can't easily tell her, and if she could understand him would she believe him?
Although if there was a way to make contact and get rescued, having her people run the pick-up would certainly help. So long as there wasn't a "no prisoners" policy.

Not exactly. She is a very young and full of militant idealism and can't believe the Empire would settle for anything but absolute victory. He is a cynical old combat vet who is tired of the war and glad that its over, but has no use for officers, militarism, or those damn rabbits and she is all three.
So, now I wonder if this was just a wild idea, or are you going to develop it? This is the third bit we've seen, so I'm guessing you're going to run with it. Danni's rather simple configuration should speed development (and she's got such a cute little nose). Jerom, on the other hand seems kind of rough and crunchy. That's a good shorthand for delineating their differences.
