mainly I just thought the name sounded cool, and the song had old southwest feel to me, and it was a mining boom town near yuma there was a silver ore they called 'black diamond' was a flash of activity, founded a post office and stage station in 1902, but the mines played out and the post office closed in 1908 and it turned into a ghost town, with a few rusted out hardware left.
