I...don't know why this would matter enough for you to even point out ???
The originals are .PNG but FA's uploading system usually distorts their quality for some reason so I have to reupload with a high quality .jpeg version instead since that seems to be the only thing that will fix the quality loss

Sorry for the laaaaaaate reply, I don't exactly FA much.
It matters because, if it's pixel art, each pixel matters. Even very high quality JPEG distorts the pixel values stored in it. That basically means that your original may be pixel art, but the JPEG cannot be (by degrees; obviously much of the higher-contrast detail is not appreciably degraded.).
So my argument was simply that putting a piece of pixel art, which inherently requires losslessness (PNG or GIF), in a lossy container(JPG), is strange. In the same way that carefully making a precise drawing with pencil on paper, then dropping it on the ground and scruffing it around before you scan it, is strange.
That said, this image is not quite pixel art IMO, it is sort of midway between oekaki, pixel art, and CG. It's more understandable that you would consider the JPEG artefacts to be insignificant when the entire picture is so huge in terms of # of pixels.
Dunno too much about FA's uploading system, but trying different PNG optimizers (eg. optipng, advpng, pngcrush) might help with that problem you describe, since they will re-encode it in a slightly different way.

I guess that makes sense.
I've never considered my pieces like this one pixel art either. I haven't really ever been able to figure out how to describe it, its made primarily with pixels sure but I don't like it being confused for pixel art since I don't think it really fits most examples of that category...its definitely more like Oekaki-esque art than anything. And like you stated, the file type is unimportant to me due to the specific scenario here
I think its FA's uploading system as I've noticed a lot of problems with quality loss and stuff when uploading things and trying to fix it. Thank you for the suggestions, I do occasionally do actual pixel art so I can use them if FA or some other site gives me problems
