This was the result of my first assignment in Computer Illustration. We had to pick a cartoon character and vector it. Plain and simple. I chose a Furret. =P
The one on the left is my finished product. The one on the right is the image I vectored over.
Not much to "ooo" and "ahh" about, I know, but it really did help me warm up to using Adobe Illustrator. Still not sure how I feel about it, but it was fun nonetheless. =)

illustrator is so difficult, i tried it once and ended up with a pretty funky pic
decent but it was odd to use, specially with a tablet <.<
flash seems much easier, even tho its not geared toward doodling and such, works well for me...
so how did you manage to deal with the funky line tool?
i coudlnt stand all the nibs, everytime i got close to a nib it jumped over to my wacom pen and messed up the line X3
i have seen ppl make amazing pics with illustrator, but no idea how... o.o
(u can see my result if u look at my scraps, "Illustrator Pika", if u want X3 )

First off, thank you for the compliment. I much appreciate it. =3
As for Illustrator, it didn't turn out to be that difficult after a few classes working with it. And I've been told that all you really need to use Illustrator for it lineart.
I used the Pen Tool to make all the lineart, and the best way to do it is to treat your lines as shapes and draw around them. Your lines are more varied and are easier to manipulate when dealing with line thickness. I did not use a tablet for this. I found a mouse to be much easier. Once you get your lineart done though, it' a sinch to fill it in with color. Just make sure you lock all the layers you're not working on. If you don't, it'll mess up all the layers beneath the one your working on.
