Books aren't always speaking of the same number of legs - and I have no doubt that one can't really say which sayings are rihgt. I don't consider it wrong that Sleipnir is portrayed with eight legs, BUT I found the thesis that he had four legs but eight hooves much more believable as I saw samples of norsk art on which Sleipnir is portrait that way. I never saw an ancient piece of art which portrait Sleipnir with eight legs. ;)
But I still love tha picture and Conny knows it. ^_^

its the most beautyfull pic of sleipnir i've ever have seen. And his coller is correct. Sleipner is all black like Odins two raven Huginn and Munin. The story of sleiånir goes like this... ones Odin and the gods had to build a giant wall around Asgard for protection. A"Jaette" (a giant evil troll-like beast) would do it in one season, if he got Freja to be his wife. The gods did not think that he could do it, so they said yes. But the jaette had Svadilfare, a big black stallion to help him and soon he had allmost finished his work. It frightened the gods, so the asked Loke or Loki what to be done aboute it. Loke disguised himself as a mare and he lured Svadilfare away. To keep the stallion away from its master, Loke mated with him. The jaette did not finished the job and had to leave with out Freja, and later Loke gave birth to a little black foal with eight legs. Odin gave him the name Sleipnir and toke him as his own horse... Sleipnir is the fastes horse in the worlds (remember in nordic myth. there is 4 worlds, Asgard, Midgard, "Out"gard and hell*S place underground) and he can move between the living and the deads world.
But again. Great pic and keep up the good work
