This is absolutely the last "Front & Back" comic gag of this year (2014)...
Once again, I was denied a Christmas bonus at my part-time job, and the only extra money I could acquire as a janitor were tips (of $10 apiece) from two residents at the condo community where I work. That, combined with the Florida 'Minimum Wage' (of $7.93 an hour*), did not provide me with adequate funds to buy any Christmas presents for some of my friends and relatives. (I had to settle for buying some very inexpensive 'gift cards' for most of these folks.)
Needless to say, my current financial situation had inspired this (belated) Christmas T-shirt in my "Front & Back" series. And even though the phrase "Bah, humbug!" is usually associated with the Dickens character 'Ebenezer Scrooge' (from "A Christmas Carol"), I feel more like his subordinate, 'Bob Cratchit'...
Here's hoping that the economy improves, and I can find full-time work at a higher salary, so I won't have to wear this T-shirt next Christmas...
*As of January 1, 2015, the Florida 'Minimum Wage' will increase twelve cents more (to $8.05 per hour) - which, to a part-time employee such as myself, is a 'drop in the ocean'.
