Well, Here it is, my attempt at remaking J-Dilla's "Welcome to the show"
Original J-Dilla beat:

The sample is from Motherlode's "When I die", I went to my local record shop and bought the record, vinyl!!
Compare the two and tell me what you think.

pretty impressive when i played them side by side.
only critique compared to the original is the bass is lower here, the treble seems a bit too high on the snare, and the cut on the vocal sounds seems a a bit off edited, but other then that, great job here for sure, your pretty damn close on replicating it : )
i enjoyed it.

i just started using real samples man.
I've already got a pretty good selection of soul on the tower.
just listening to some of this music is showing me how he was feeling.
"dont say goodnight" by the isley brothers.
"I cant stand (to see you cry)" by The Escorts
Musical Genius.
Billy Joel said it best, only the good die young.

music is feeling.
hell, I learned an old jazz technique about 5 years back that taught me to 'speak' with music.
let the feeling flow, scream with the insturments.
look through my gal and find On My Own, that one is a speaker.
but, now that im starting to use samples, I might be able to make some cool stuff.
still want a MPC though.
he was who he was, an inspiration to us all.
