ahhh well here's a new species thing i'm working on
I guess im gonna call them 'Keepers' or in whatever case they happen to be, this one would be a 'Hope Keeper' because of the runes engraved on it's hourglass which is their torso the have a skeletal lower body with bird talons and the bones are made of a weird onyx crystalline matter.
Basically, the hope keeper can choose to feed on hope or feed on fear ad release hope. This lady choose originally to feed off the fear of the world until it consumed her and with that she thought if she consumed hope she would regain her purity. It however turned her into a monster.
The hourglass functions as storage for energy- if too much is consumed the hourglass shatters and they die, to little and the turn to brittle and eventually crumble away. The mating process can take place between any gender[they usually choose their own or go with genderless] they exchange energies, mostly when they are near death since this takes a toll on them, until each of the top parts of their hourglasses are full. It'll take until the bottom part is full for the new keeper to form and break the glass killing the parent. If the new keeper cannot break the glass it will be consumed which isn't too rare for this species.
These keepers can range from all types of birds and styles alive or dead, they all have the same crystalline bones but colors can vary the hourglass body is also important. Each one has a runic inscription of what type of keeper they are
if you're interested in making one please lemme know i'd love to hear your ideas!!
