In verity, that was an allusion to the Winslow, indeed. At least two readers, it would appear, are familiar with Buck Godot.
(Of note: the thing -- whatever it is, is actually in the vaults at Kennelford, not Elfhame. Elfhame probably doesn't have anything valuable enough to stash in a vault, the Master's manuscript collection aside.)
