That's a really awesome use of GIS technology for the advancement of greater world understanding! What you need to do now is get a map of world population density, overlay your points, do a little division, and see how pervosity varies per capita.

Interesting! I have yet to get into Google Earth's KML stuff, but it looks like a basic location + coordinates + count of pervocity. If we wanted a better per capita estimate of pervocity, I think we'd be best off doing a tabular calculation, matching the city names with most recent population estimates, and then convert that to a map...rather than doing any sort of spatial arithmatic directly.

Too bad I don't actually have the time to go tracking down the data and doing the analysis. :)

Yeah, those numbers look like decimal degrees, times 10000. If they are, the coordinates they're using are 29 deg 46 min 31.8 sec N, 95 deg 24 min 54.72 sec W. (e.g., (29 + (46/60) + (31.8/(60*60)) * 10000) = 297755)...
