(Ohmigee, I really love how this looks against FA's black fill. I usually dislike that FA doesn't accept my transparent-background .pngs, but this time it actually accentuates some of the detail, like along her wings. *applauds* )
Over the many winding roads that snake their way through the Golan Heights, Muzafr makes her own 'roads' in the airspace above them, ever-vigilant and policing them for intruders and suspicious activity. But sometimes she takes a day or two to drift peacefully over the desert, alone with the whistle of the wind and her thoughts~
Better fly than drive those roads. They share the mountainsides with still-live landmines. True story.
Kicking off 2015 with some personal artwork featuring none other than yours truly, my scalesona, Muzafr. I wanted to do a piece of her in a graceful pose, and wanted to try something a bit different with the background and lighting.
I also decided to give her wings a ridiculously difficult pose, but I think I pulled off the feather layering well. ^^ I've learned how to properly wing! With help from some pics I've taken of my local water-fowl friends, too, when I frequent my fishing beach. Pelicans, (and even ducks,) are great models for slim wings.
Background kind of fantasy-inspired and kind of inspired by the Golan Heights, what with the mix of sand and vegetation. The real Golan are much more 'hilly,' with sporadic green patches. And yes, there are minefields there, so watch your step, tourists!
And is it silly that I'm, like, way too giddy about the road details? Like the car and people walking along it? I'm way too excited over those teeny tidbits, and I kind of giggle when I look at the car's headlights. *derp*
Muzafr is my scalesona and © me.
Thanks for checking it out! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Oooh wow - great way to pose your character to show off that huge wingspan! Gorgeous detail again, and I like that your characters have a wingspan that's more realistic for the aerodynamics and lift factors that would be associated with a flying dragon of that size. :)
Also yes... happy new year!

There is something so very mystical about this piece, and even more so the full-size version over on Deviantart (and I do not mind admitting that I do not often click on any DA links). But you're definitely right about the black background adding something to this version.
Fantastic perspective and proportions, and overall this is yet another of your totally amazing pieces. Great work, Saint!
