"...despair set in. Very odd, what happens in a world without children's voices."
A still shot (Furry-fied, naturally) from one of the best movies in the last decade, Children of Men. Seriously, it is, and if you haven't seen it already you should watch it immediately (and if you have seen it, go watch it again).

Quite true; a world full of people grimly waiting to go extinct doesn't exactly make for a feel-good movie most of the time. But I think this makes the whole thing (the events in the end, for instance) sink in more. I mean, looking at how terrible things had become; wouldn't the chance for something to fix all that be something worth truly hoping for?
I love the idea that only england has survived the planet wide despair with any real government in place because they've taken full military control of everything. A horrible place to live, but at least you can survive.
I thought it was one of Michael Caines better roles as well, not a massive roll but he played his part well.
I'm going to watch it again right now i think

Exactly. It's a desperate move, but just something to put in place while everyone grows old and dies.
I really like Caine as well, he did a great job. Also love Clive Owen, this is definitely his best role so far.
I need to watch it again as well, I haven't seen it in too long.
