Ya ever been to Show Biz Pizza? I went there once for a birthday party ( not mine ) in 1983 I think. I really liked the animatronic band for reasons I can only explain to myself. Here are my characters umm... in animatronic form, putting on a show. What's really important, ( to me anyway ), is that they're playing music that sounds like a band I've raved about before, Tame Impala. I dunno why but... that's the music that fits this for some reason. So, open another window and click THIS link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iErjaKTX_3w to hear Tame Impala's song " Alter Ego ". OR, because all the songs from their first album are amazing and oddly fitting, click here to listen to their entire album entitled " Innerspeaker " here= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS93SXk951k
Left to right = Ralph on key boards, Teedo on drums, Chafe on bass and Amber on guitar. Foof is giving the wink in the foreground... and Dudley is peeking in at the end there.

Holy fucking hell man, this is incredible! How long did this take you? All those bleeding colors, I'm so impressed with how you did the friggin' glistening sequence bits everywhere! That's awesome, that really is awesome!
I got to go to Showbiz I thiiiiiiink in 91 or 92? It was whenever the Ninja Turtles Arcade was around, cause I played the shit out of it there...and skeeball.
Some guy actually has a set of the Rock-a-Fire Explosion animatronics and he makes 'em sing various new songs and some of his own...this one actually gave me a laugh, "I Ain't Gay": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu4e-Rf6zhc
Man though, this is so crazy impressive sir.

Heh heh. It's been in my head since October I think. As for drawing... it took... some hours, a decent pile of hours. 8 .... 10... I never think to keep track.
The sequins-stuff or tinsel was something that kinda worked itself out on it's own. Luckily I had some decent reference pics. It's just a bunch of layered marker strokes with a bunch o' dots from a white pen. It was kinda fun to do once it began to happen.
That video is amusing but watching it now reminds me of why they sort of scare me. I dunno why but animatronic stuff like that is sort of creepy. I guess cuz it moves on it's own. I like it but I still sorta get that... slightly... eerie feeling when I see them move. I'm gonna have to watch some more of those though.
Thanks so much. Chief Carnivous says " Hi! " ( cuz I got one finally the other day ).

Ah the Chief is a great figure! Mine's got some weak ankles, but I still love the hell out of his design. Supposedly he was meant to be a connection between the He-Man universe and the Thundercats'.
And yeah, animatronics always make me feel super uncomfortable...there's something haunting about them even still. I actually have a fascination/fear of animatronics that come out of the water. I can't really explain that one...but I've seen things like that at putt-putt golf courses, or shows, and there's just something eerie there. I know Disney has a few rides with shit like that.
Heh there's a reason Five Nights at Freddy's gets so much attention after all. :p

I thought I heard something about Carnie being a link to Thundercats. Was that ever made official?
I guess it's scary because it moves on it's own... and is made to be scary. Prolly like haw some folks are afraid of balloons.
I never knew what Five Nights with Freddie was until ... now. Then I realized that I'd been seeing it all over the place.

I never got to do parties at Showbiz, Chuck E Cheese, et al as a kid. But this picture still speaks to me! Great details! One detail seems to be missing though: The pedal boards for the guitars. Tame Impala and bands like them use all kinds of effects pedals to get those amazing sounds from the guitar! Also, what are the appendages on Teedo's suit? Wings? Tentacles?
"He's got things covering his wings"! HaHa I love how that rhymes, just rolls off the tongue!!! A pedal board is a collection of effects pedals bolted to a piece of plywood(or whatever) to organize/ make setup/ plugging-in/ takedown easier. You are right, animatronic musicians don't need as much gear as us mortals LOL!
