This is my... not-as-original-as-I-might-hope Gotham OC, Apollanarya. I didn't want to make her
so aggressively similar to Penguin and Riddler, but somehow I succeeded in doing just that.
Despite the similarities, though, she's not at all cut out for hardcore villainy. She's a pawn at heart
and can only hope to be the head pawn at best. She's more than a little awkward, a little retro,
and harbours sweet, secret passions that ache to be unearthed. A court typographer born to a
deadbeat mother and a misogynistic and legally disabled father, she's fantastically mild for her
dramatic past.
My favourite... 'quirk' of her's is a tendency that she picked up while she was in college,
volunteering at an old folks home. She found that it was commonplace for elders to mistake her
for their own kin, and therein she formed a plot, innocent at first. Mouse would dress up and poke
around until someone 'recognized' her, and she would bask in their kind words and their affection,
letting them believe that some long-lost relative was finally interested in visiting them again. It
went sour when one of them 'had heard about her recent financial troubles'. Not taking no for an
answer, the couple forced a check for $2,000 dollars on her and, while she hesitated for a moment,
she took it without complaint. Since then, she's been scamming elders out of their money, making
a point to fly out of the city every now and again, lest her patterns give her away.
