For the wings, you might try hunting up a hobby shop in your area, and getting your hands on some of the cockpit windshields for those old model airplanes. A bit of carving and painting, and they would be great as a mantis' outer wings.

You know, that could be a problem. Together with wings. I have to think about it a bit. I think that the best thing would be working on an existing bird-like head (phoenixes or Tzeench's lords of change) with green stuff and tyranid armor. The wings I honestly can't imagine though.


Though, a centaur Hive Tyrant would still be cool. One day, one day, when money will just fall from the sky... damn, man, stop inspiring me, I already have too much to work on XD

This is pretty rad. A solid design and I'm digging the centaur approach.
