This mean looking mofo is a Shyvran. They are 20-25 foot tall behemoths and, rarely, up to 30 feet tall. These mega-predators are rather territorial, so it isn't common to see more than one aside from mating season [up to two years apart, though these periods can be as short as 6 months.]
The Shyvran have a territorial range averaging 200 miles. They mark their territory with scent glands pitted alongside their salivary glands, applied with their long, prehensile tongues to tree's, rocks and other objects. The chemical causes their saliva to be slightly more acidic than normal, so it isn't uncommon to be able to see the markings before scenting them. [at least, for humans]
The armor seen is an evolutionary trait that began to developed prior to the Draskhalans and Fyrilans developing their sentience/intelligence as a means of remaining competitive against a herd of either.
Yes, that is an eye on its tail; as such it can have a massive field of vision if it uses the eye to watch what the eyes on its head can't see. The eye on the tail can be protected by a seal-able corona of armored plates.
The belly fur of a Shyvran is exceptionally soft and warm, though due to the dangers of attempting to slay one they are not hunted for it, as there is almost always considerable loss of life in bringing one down. Normally they are left alone unless their territory threatens a Drask or Fyril settlement.

I really need to get Kosika to color this ref now that i've got the money. This was a prize a ways back for a free line art, but I had no money to get it colored too. They're typically dark browns and greens in color, but can adopt reds and such too!
Thank you, by the way. I'm just on a kick describing these bad boys xDDD
