A story with myself, my friend
sournote103, and an appearance by another great friend
traskfox!
A new knitting shop has opened up which Tiran can't resist, and when Rerim follows him in the bear gets a sting of magic which gives him a new perspective.
I hope you all enjoy, and I would love to hear what you all think! =D
“Hey, a new fabric shop,” Tiran said, gesturing to a shop where a ferret gown in dark clothing was flipping a open sign. “Want to check it out, Rerim?” he asked, smiling at his larger friend.
Rerim was in the middle of glancing at a map as they had been trying to find their way to a new food joint downtown, and glancing up he inspected the fabric shop. “Shouldn’t we get something to eat first?” he asked, and Tiran grinned and took the bear’s hand.
“Come on! It’ll just take a few minutes, then we can go eat some burgers,” Tiran laughed, Rerim sighed as he slipped the map under his arm and opened the door for the otter. Stepping inside the pair could smell the arts and crafts materials in the air, and at the counter the ferret smiled at them.
“Welcome to Magic Knits, today is our opening day,” the ferret said, smiling kindly as the pair approached her. “I’m glad to see that young animals such as yourself are interested in the fine art of knitting, and arts and crafts. Since you’re my first customers, half off anything you buy,” she said, gesturing for the pair to browse.
“Thanks!” Tiran said, and he walked through the store while Rerim admired some knits that were placed around the store. “Wow, this stuff is really nice,” Tiran said, picking out a pair of knitting needles that looked like they were good quality.
While Tiran was glancing around, Rerim picked up a small bear and turned it in his paws. “Wow, did you make all of these?” he asked the ferret, and she nodded. She looked to be old enough to be his grandmother, though something in her eyes gave him an odd feeling that she was young...
“Yes, I love doing anything with knit, especially plush animals, I have a whole wall over there dedicated to them,” she said, gesturing to a wall filled with all sorts of adorable plush animals. “You know, you seem like a very handsome bear,” the ferret said, and Rerim blushed as he scratched the back of his neck.
“Not really, anyways... I’d better be going to see what my friend is doing,” Rerim said, and he started to walk away, and jumped as he felt something sting the back of his neck. “Youch!” he roared, and fell onto his rear with a crash.
“Rerim!” Tiran screamed, running through the store to make sure his friend was alright. “Are you okay, bud?! You didn’t break your tail, did you?!” he asked, helping the bear to his feet.
Shaking his head a bit, Rerim rubbed his neck where he felt the sting. “No... I’m fine. I was just surprised, it felt like something stabbed me...” he muttered, but where he felt there didn’t seem to be anything wrong.
“I’m glad you’re alright,” the ferret said, and standing up she brushed off the bear. “I don’t know what happened, but why don’t you just take your stuff for free?” she asked, and Tiran started to argue but she smiled and rose her hand. “Just pass around the news of my store, and you’ll be fine,” she said, and with a sigh the pair thanked her and left. As the ferret watched the pair leave, she saw a stitch appearing on the side of the young bear’s neck. “Hehe, a plush bear. I can’t wait to see how you spread,” she said, her body flickered for a moment revealing a witch’s hat and a much younger body before becoming the old ferret once more. With a twitch of her wrist a long needle appeared in her hand, and she tapped a blank doll that started to fill in with pink. “Only a matter of time...”

Once the pair got to the restaurant, Tiran ordered them both cheeseburgers, and it wasn’t long before the otter was digging into one. “Wow... this is great...” he moaned, chowing down on the sandwich while Rerim absentmindedly touched the back of his neck. He didn’t feel anything wrong, and neither did anybody else, but the magic was taking effect, and his fur was becoming felt and stitches were making their way up the side of his body. “Rerim, are you alright? You haven’t eaten, and you were the one who wanted to eat first,” the otter said, looking at his friend with concern.
Snapping out of his reverie, Rerim nodded. “Yeah, I’m feeling fine. Actually I think I’ll just take this burger with me home though, I just remembered that there’s a episode of project runway on in about thirty minutes, and I don’t want to miss that,” he said, and Tiran nodded as he asked for two boxes before paying. Rerim actually felt really good, super happy in fact. Like he just wanted to give everyone a nice plush hug... “Hm...” he muttered to himself, curious why he had thought of plush.
“Shall we go?” Tiran asked, and Rerim nodded as they started out of the restaurant. Chowing down on some of his fries while they walked, Tiran started to talk about things in the town, about some of their friends and what they were up to, but Rerim just tuned out as he found himself wanting to get home as soon as he could, and he couldn’t describe it. “Rerim?” Tiran broke into his thoughts, and Rerim jumped as he rubbed his eyes. It was getting a bit hard to use his fingers actually for some reason... like his fingers wouldn’t move apart...
“Yeah, Tiran?” he asked, smiling as Tiran pointed past him to his house.
“You almost walked with me home,” the otter chuckled, and Rerim laughed as he scratched the back of his neck.
“Sorry... I’ve been a bit out of it today, I’ll talk to you later,” Rerim said, and Tiran nodded as his friend walked inside. Though Tiran noticed that Rerim’s stepped seemed a bit more... jovial? Walking inside of his house, Rerim closed the door and sighed as he rolled his shoulders. Though he made the motion, for some reason his body felt super loose, and there was no stress at all. Actually Rerim couldn’t think of one thing to not be happy about, he was just so happy he wanted to give the world a hug... maybe he should watch TV.
Rerim walked past the trash and trashed the cheeseburger, he wasn’t hungry... at least in the conventional sense. There was an odd feeling inside of him, like he was hungry, but for something else... Sitting down in front of the TV, Rerim tried to pick up the remote but his fingers refused to come apart, so after a lot of awkward poking he was able to flip on the TV. Rerim looked at the TV, and then he felt his entire body freeze as large green and black spirals rolled around on the TV, and he felt his face freeze in a smile as the illusion of himself being alive vanished, and he was shown to be a giant plush bear. From the TV a voice spoke to Rerim as he sat there with his big happy smile, his tongue slipped out also made of plush felt.
“Such a good plush coming home like my magic told you to. Now I’m sure you’re feeling awfully hungry, but normal food won’t sate your hungering tummy my hopelessly happy dumb plushy,” the voice explained, Rerim nodded slowly feeling happier and more giddy as he looked at that wonderful spiral, his eyes vanishing within spirals of their own. “You see you now hunger to put others inside of that big zipper of yours, and make them into big dumb bear plushies just like you! You see as your mother witch, I want to make dolls, so many dolls to sell and collect. I can only do that though with magic, and to do that I need a plush minion, and you have been volunteered to do that you sweet bear.”
Giggling as he was talked to by his mistress, Rerim felt more and more dopey and light headed as his body filled with cotton, and his zipper grew out from his plush chest. His paws became mere pictures on his felt hands and feet, and Rerim was completely happy with that as he imagined putting other animals into his stomach to change them too! “Now my dear sweet bear, please be a dear and go start making other bears. Don’t worry about who they were, and don’t even worry about who you were. Just know that soon this town will be full of happy plush bears, that only want to be happy.”
The TV turned itself off as the plush bear jumped up, his stomach wiggling with plush as he giggled. “Time to make mommy witch happy!” he sang, his voice higher and happier as he walked to the door and opened it with some fumbling of his hands. Striding out into the streets, he looked around as one of the neighbors was walking down the street.
“Rerim, is that you in that costume?” the fox asked, peeking into Rerim’s big swirling eyes. “This is a really impressive suit! Did you knit it yours...AGH!” his words were cut off as the big zipper on the plush bear’s suit dropped down, and Rerim wrapped his arms around the fox and dragged him into his cotton stomach. Inside of the bear he felt kicks and pulls at his zipper, but there was no way he was opening up until the fox came out happy and plush headed!
A few minutes later a sensation traveled through the plushie, and he opened up his zipper and let out a bear that looked exactly like him. “Wowee~ That was super fun, and I feel great! Now let me help you with mommy witch’s plans~” the new bear said, they gave each other a hug before marching off with destinations in mind.
Back at the witch’s shop, the witch was knitting herself a new more elaborate witch’s hat as one of the blank dolls on her desk started to sparkle. “Oh? Did my adorable bear already find another?” she asked, and picking up the blank doll she watched as it went from blank doll to an adorable fox plush. “Well then, I guess this won’t be as long of a wait as I thought,” she said, smiling as she picked up her knitting needles once more and started to knit as she hummed.

Tiran fumbled with his needles as he tried to make... something. At first he was dedicated to making a sock... and then a scarf... and now he was on the sixth hole, and he was starting to wonder if he should call it a snuggie with a tailhole... “Uch, I’m not good at this,” the otter muttered, picking up his remote for a moment to turn on the TV. “Maybe I should distract myself a little...” he mumbled, noticing that it was two hours after project runway. “Hey... what if Rerim wants to play some league?”
Ditching his ill attempted snuggie... thing, Tiran picked up the phone and dialed Rerim’s house. After two attempts, Tiran sighed as he walked back to his coach. “Maybe he went to bed early,” he said, and then noticed his snuggie was floating. “I... don’t think yarn usually does that...” he muttered, furrowing his brows as he took a step back. “Yeah... yarn doesn’t do that,” he said, and then the otter started to run before his blanket wrapped around him and picked him up. “Stop defying gravity!” he roared as the door opened, and Tiran was flown out into the front yard and dumped there. “What in the... world?” he moaned, finding himself starting at a plush form of his best friend.
“Ooo, a pink otter. You’ll be extra collectable for mommy witch,” the bear said in a high voice, he smiled as he stretched out his arms and Tiran rolled away.
“What... Rerim?! What happened to you? Why are you all plush, and why is my yarn refusing to adhere to gravity’s laws?!” Tiran yelled, watching his snuggie float its way through the air. “Is this all because of that store?” he asked, standing up and backing away as Rerim’s front opened up revealing a bunch of softly cozy looking cotton inside.
“Let me give you a hug, mister otter~” the bear sang, and Tiran screamed as he backed into another clone of his friend. “Give him a hug~” the other bear sang, and Tiran screamed again as he found himself tumbling right into Rerim’s stomach.
“Let me out!” Tiran screamed, kicking out against the cotton, but it was all so snuggly... and warm... Tiran’s fur started to fade as white plush material took its place, his body becoming vague and formless as he floated inside of the cloud. Then the cotton started to glow, and his body started to fluff out. Inside of the cotton figure he filled up with the same magic cotton, and his button eyes grew out into glassy black and green swirls.
The otter’s tail grew in becoming a plush stitched tail that wagged as the rest of his body expanded, his face grinning gleefully as he took on the same appearance as Rerim. He hugged his large stomach as his own zipper appeared, stitches flying up his sides as he became a large pink bear just like Rerim. He saw the zipper opening, and he tumbled out dopely, flopping around on the ground as he giggled happily. Everything seemed so much happier and easier to think now that his brain was so light and cottoney, standing up the bear smiled as the memories of the bear were imprinted into his mind. “I can’t wait to make more happy bears for witch mommy!” he sang, hugging his brethren as they marched out towards some adults who looked like they were in the need for some big hugs.

The ferret witch smiled as she waved her needle wand, the special dolls that she planned to keep were put into beautiful little glass cases. “I love the pink set I have here,” she giggled, gesturing to Rerim and Tiran’s old forms. “This little guy is adorable too,” she said, looking at the little gray fox. “Odd that it came with an accessory, that’s never happened before,” she noted, looking at the pipe set between his lips.
She was preparing a spell to move her store to another town, but before that she stepped out where the whole town had become plush clones, and they smiled at her as she gave a few some big hugs. “Mommy is very happy with you, and I will be back at some point to use you all for help as Mommy has a plan for plush maids, I’m sure you will all make very good little maids for mommy, isn’t that right?” she asked, and all of the bear clones giggled and nodded. “Well then, I leave you all with new training until I return to prepare you for shipping,” she said, watching as all of the bears sat down, their eyes spinning as they were trained, and new maid outfits started appearing. “Very good,” she said, walking inside to prepare for another town where she would be selling off some of her dolls, and making a few more on the side.
