Awesome! I've had a mare for the last 15 years lol. :D Herc has to hold his own with 2 other girls at his home (he's not mine, sadly), so he knows how to pull a mean bitchface. XD

I also see that you're an Aussie! If you're interested in getting more involved in jousting, look up Rod Walker (http://www.jousting.com.au/) or Sarah Hay sometime. And sooooo taaaaaaallllll.... omg. I'm not a terribly short person (5'6") but he makes me feel like a child. His daddy is somewhere around 6'4", so they're a perfect pair lol.

Lol I know how you feel I've ridden a Percheron, and Belgians before they make you feel so little, granted I'm only 5 foot myself in the first place

Same! (except for the height lol) I love them all. People at shows are always amazed that a) we're riding drafts, and b) they're so friggin fast! If you're not hanging on to a handful of mane when Herc takes off, you're likely to unhorse yourself lol.

Funny thing is I've only fallen off a draft once and he literally tripped so bad he ended up on his knees (me over his head) and I've fallen many times off other horses but ridden drafts nearly as much as others, I feel safer on a draft for some reason with a smaller horse I feel more likely to slip off with a draft theres more body to catch ya if you do, never ridden in those kinds of shows though

I feel (now) like I can wrap my legs around a smaller horse better, but you're right, drafts feel more like a secure, comfy couch lol. I've seen videos of Hercules literally swinging his butt out to one side to keep his daddy from getting knocked off. He's kinda awesome. ^_^

ya I'm not a terrible rider..but my leg strength kinda sucks so a draft definitely always feels safer to me

I knew one i swear took brain cues from me, a belgian, wouldn't need to say anything or do anything just think, unless i was making really subtle movements even i wasn't aware of

That's awesome! I love it when that happens. ^_^ My mare and I used to be like that, when I was showing and practicing regularly.
