now I picture this being the end credits of a game or some kind of background music in a movie, something subtle that sets the mood, nice work :D

I see this to a gamer/adventure/fantasy movie intro. Net pals who play D&D over the net with skype and stuff (actually it could work very well, DM puts their camera above the field, everyone else has their 'cameras' around it) anyway.)

Starts off in russia, spunky female lead getting home after a rough day at work (McDonald's maybe) checks her watch as she gets in, rushes to the comp and logs in to their chat room.

and so on and so on, and I HAVE A COOL IDEA NOW! awesome.

Ah. No worries on that. Quite a video game nerd myself. But Tetris did have some good music for it.

lol you're incorrect, I didnt use pitch changes or corrections. All i did was alter the speed slightly, but it's essentially still what i sound like. Quality is crap though :P

My avatar is a Casio Sk-1 keyboard, the cheapest sampler in th eworld :)
you can hit a button on it and make a noise or say something into the mike,
then after 2 seconds of sample time (yes only 2 seconds) you can play the keyboard!
pretty advanced toy for 1987! not exactly a Fairlight but its fun! :)

haha yeah i love that kinda thing :) It can be really effective.
But I didn't find the pitch changed, but i know what you mean. It is done using a recording program which i guess sorts the pitch out, cuz it's an expensive one and all that.

You're right. Basically I didn't like the tempo of the recording I did, so notched the speed up slightly. But it really wasn't much, but it's made the warbling sound on it. I haven't compared the one I have done with the original but I don't think the tempos are the same thiking about it.

Time stretching killed a Star Wars tune I made a long time ago (I'll stop the pun there.) It was a sad moment for me.

That's the midi right? It's exactly the same but rearranged? I've played with the midi you can get everywhere as well. I had to make it simpler so I could have it as a ringtone so I pulled it apart a bit.
