Not everyone starts out a big powerful Demon Warrior.
Soun was quite a strapping young man back in the days. But, his brothers and the rest of his tribe treated him like a little runt.
He was going to prove himself one day.
But he decided he didnt want to wait to rise in the ranks. he...took a shortcut.
And while this is a Rite in his Tribe handed down to the Best and Proven, he forcably, and successfully Drew out the incantation and performed the Ritual that Transformed him, subduing himself under a Demonic Contract.
And now, he is the large and powerful demon he is.
Outliving and perfoming everyone that once picked on him.
Now he lives an Immortal life, seen 4 cycles.

Debatable....
On one hand, he is alot more confident (With skills and power to back himself up) and more reserved...humble if you will. Cause he was quite loud when he was younger.
But at the same time, that confidence makes him a cocky asshole. And he now does have quite a temperament. Not easy to annoy, but the wrong button will set him off.
