I dunno, maybe make the dragon stand out more? Maybe add some contrasting colours around him, like some red highlights?

I wish I could I tried but i couldnt really find colors that looked right

yeah the only bad thing about adding something to the bg would be how much it destracts from the dragon himself

Heh wow...absolutely beautiful style. Personally, I think the picture is coming along well. You've captured the way light works underwater very nicely...and there's enough of a haze that it's convincing. Only thing I can think of is to add some other underwater life to the picture. Don't need to crop in a whole reef...just enough fish [or if you'd like to compare his size...perhaps a whale or two] or other creatures that it's more of an active scene. Also, your title is implying that he's ancient...so, if not fish...perhaps at least show us the faint bones of an ancient set of ruins in the background?

Just a few thoughts, anyways. I think it's gorgeous even as it stands now.

if you really want to "improve" something, i would suggest more lighting and water effects. as it is now, though, it looks very stylish, and very nice.

I think its good as it is. Maybe make the background a tone darker, to make his wings or whatever they may be, to pop out more to the viewe. From that i think it looks great.

it's an oekaki that was deleted off of the oekaki board a long time ago so it would be really hard to make the bg darker
