It's too bad the Sapphire Crystal Star is very much meh. Having to use 5 Star Power just for a possible max of 24 hp and 24 fp, then factoring how the hp is split between your party, and then factoring how many you hit, makes it a fairly undesirable power to use. Especially since using an item would just be a lot simpler and more efficient.

Simultaneously, items are pretty expensive in TTYD, particularly for an RPG. The Sapphire Crystal Star allowed me to venture much further with no items by using it in enemy encounters when there was only one remaining enemy who was going to be taken down by my next attack. It's a very expensive move to use, but I felt it was justified by its alternatives of pricey items and long ventures to points on the map to restore health. That said, I get ya.

I never had a problem with money, I always made it a priority to get the Refund Badge asap so I didn't lose that much when I used an item, and field items gave me money back. Not to mention selling badges I didn't use.

Hmm, smart strategy. I never was fond of money-granting equipment, but if (more likely when) I replay TTYD, I'm definitely giving that a shot!

To be fair though, i've played TTYD so much that I hardly ever get health until the end game where there are attacks that will straight up one shot me. Cause I get everything in bp and get the defense badges, not to mention i'm pretty good at super blocking for counter damage.

Yeah, if you master super blocking in this game, the world is your oyster. Man, just thinking about the skills, strategy and good money sense needed to master TTYD is making me appreciate it even more... and it's already one of my top 5 favorite games.

Honestly, in a skill to skill ratio I think Paper Mario is harder compared to Thousand Year Door, only because if you've mastered everything in both games, Paper Mario doesn't have a lot of advantages to master, while Thousand Year Door does.

Also, I totally miss the Spin Attack from Paper Mario, it was so cool, it could even reflect certain projectiles.

Couldn't have said it much better myself. A toast to one of the greatest RPGs out there!
