Here we have some wonderful gift art from my good friend
THEGREATTITANICCHICK depicting my next generation protagonist, Lang Jun of Luoyang, the proud and bullheaded daughter of Lang Shu and Hirozuki Kitsune. This interpretation of her isn't exactly on the nail in capturing her proud and tomboyish spirit, but I'm very grateful for this gift, so I'll just say that this is her on a bad day. She is as stubborn as they come, always ready to fight and show off her skills in Tai Lang Quan, Ninjutsu, and Shaolin Dual Sword combat.
She would be about twelve years old here. Although her mother expelled the evil of Ninetails lurking in her blood, Jun inheritted the power to grow extra tails like a kitsune, only her hyperactive Langren blood, which gives her the power of lightning, accelerates this process. While most kitsune grow all nine randomly over the course of 100 years, the raw power lurking in the blood of this Langren/Kitsune half breed shortens that process to exactly 32 years, that's 4 years for each extra tail.
Also, like a kitsune, her extra tails come with a certain kind of power. However, thanks to her father's blood, these powers are the strangest ever seen by Langren and Kitsune alike. Her first tail holds nothing, of course, and only serves as a tail, which allows her to change direction quickly, as they do for anything with a tail. Her first EXTRA tail, her second tail, allows her to use her inherited powers of lightning and fire simultaneously rather than focusing on just one element at a time. The third tail gives her the power to harmlessly detach her claws from her completely, as well as control them in the air or reattach them through thought. Her fourth tail allows her to manipulate her body's own gravity and let her move through the air as though she were underwater.
She spends most of her time training, devoted to her dream of taking the reigns of her tribe once she comes of age. She holds her father in high regard as a hero, much like he did with his own father. But thanks to her mother's fighting spirit, Jun often takes risks against her father's advise to try and prove herself, though she does not need to. Another favorite pass time is hearing stories of her father's search for her mother and how he leapt across different dimensions to find her. Unfortunately, Jun has never known her grandfather and relies on the stories of her grandmother, Lang Huang Yun, to get a grasp on what kind of leader he was.
It was these stories that inspired Jun to take up her grandfather's tools and start a career in blacksmithing. She studies this art almost as much as she does for martial arts and one day wishes to craft herself a pair of swords to use in her family's lifelong battle against injustice. She has not made them yet, so she instead uses two chutes of bamboo. In my stories, she makes her first appearance with her swords Kitsulang the Japanese Katana and Shuzuki the Chinese Saber, in Legends of the Silk Meadow Sanctuary Chapter 1, where she wanders into a haven for spider hybrids, creatures with silk spinning abilities like spiders, and gets a fight with a few of them, not turning out to well for them. Curious about her motives? Want to know the outcome? Find Legends of the Silk Meadow Sanctuary in my gallery and find out for yourself.
Once again, thanks
