Horace: Origins [by Count_Gravimeter]
The character has been in my gallery plenty of times, but It's high time I gave credit where credit is long overdue.
To preface, the lovely and talented
count_gravimeter is every bit as awesome of a person as she is an artist, and take it on good faith when I say that, even on personal merit alone, I cannot possiblylaud her merits hard enough. But in this case I'm going to need to be especially loud in my doing so.
Well over a year ago she and I were discussing a character concept that had been running through my mind, and from a scant few words such as "bay clydesdale" and "really lame live action hero-style scarf" she whipped up this picture in practically a few hours, and I nearly broke through the floor with the speed of my dropping jaw.
From this concept piece I've worked out a few methods of my own for drawing him and- beyond that- visualizing elongated faces in artwork as a whole, even if he's become a bit less of a dynamic and intense hero figure and more of a lovable goofball with time. I'm not sure if you would technically call this fan art of my concept or if you'd call all of my works fan art from this piece, that this picture forms the basis of all artwork I've done of the equine in question.
So, yeah.
count_gravimeter. Check out her work sometime, especially if you like big butts and are unable to fabricate falsehoods on the matter.
