When I visited the aquarium, I had a very good time playing with the otters.
You see, they're quite jaded with humans, and generally don't pay much attention to the people behind the glass. But they *did* pay attention to me, because, well, I'm an otter.
I went over to the side window, outside the viewing area in the building, and waited. When one of them came up to peek through the glass, I started bobbing up and down, back and forth. I'd duck my head, scoot to the side, pop up, then do the reverse. The otter did a double-take, and plastered himself against the glass.
Trap laid, bait set, I kept it up.
Bounce-boing-bounce-pop-duck-weave-pop. Another showed up. Then another. And before long, the entire mess had left the huge viewing area, and were plastered against the side window, watching me in rapt fascination, sniffing through the gap in the glass.
What I didn't realize, was that a tour guide had been talking about the otters for all the people, when they vanished. So they switched the cameras around, and there I was, bouncing, bobbing, weaving and hopping for the otters.
And the audience.
