The fox and the husky sit upon the hard ground and look into each others eyes, tired and chilled to the bone. No words. Just the silence and the wind. Thinking and thinking, the two determine their situation. "D-Does he like me?", Noctis asks himself in his head. "I wonder if his mind is on me.", Nate wonders... the silence still unbroken. Too determined to ask, Noctis rises his head first. His slender fox figure curves as he gets ready to speak. Nate notices the fox has risen so he rises with him. Noctis in an embarrassed predicament, he looks at Nate right in the eyes. A slight blush rushes over him, his mouth opens but no words come out. Nate waits for him to speak but with his disappointment, nothing happens. They stop and stare... Noctis shifts uncomfortably and looks at the ground for a few seconds... thinking how to ask. "Oh great, now I look like a fool.", he says to himself. "All I have to do is just ask if he likes me, it shouldn't be too hard." But with a second attempt, it ends in failure. As Nate takes notice, a small grin crosses his face. Knowing words aren't necessary to express what he feels, Noctis stares at Nate and a slight smile forms. Both of their tails flick and sway back and forth until finally what feels like minutes pass, their tails slightly shift behind each other. Their expressions only getting wider. Their hearts racing faster. Time seems frozen, the wind blowing through their fur. In a rush of comfort and love, Nate's crystal blue and green mix and Noctis's glowing golden eyes emit great emotion. Their bodies shift closer and closer... the cold quickly leaving while warmth, strength and comfort enter like drinking a hot beverage on a cold wintery day.
The most basic of actions can express such complex and great emotion at times. Because without words, the two lovers know they are Here for each other.
