Sometimes the AUP of Furaffinity is so weird.
I currently have the fight of conscience if it should be rated mature coz the AUP says so or general because dayum, there's not the slightest hint that the content is erotic.

why? if there's nothing showing, it's General. I don't understand the confusion. This is how every site does it.

I literally quote the AUP for you.

"Nudity: Free of nudity of any kind, including outlines of genitalia, female nipples, or bulges. Nudity is defined as the open display of genitalia, or exposed, female nipples."

'or bulges' means actually that "technically" the Picture should be rated Mature because there's a bulge according to the AUP.
But! There's no sexual intention behind the Picture, making me question the validity of our Acceptable Upload Policy.

There's the Confusion. We have an AUP that makes absolutely no sense and would restrict the general public to view the Picture because of one silly detail and not the overall Content and Intention.

'sexual intention'? Since when does that have anything to do with it? It all depends on what you can see. And you're going to get that "one silly detail" rule everywhere. For example, you really think it's okay to display one's nipples on TV because it's "one silly detail"? Or how about a song that has a single "f*ck" in it? It still has to be censored before they put it on the radio, doesn't matter how insignificant it is. Yes I am aware there is at least one exception (Who Are You) but it's generally not allowed.

This isn't just something that FA does, pointing at them and saying that their rule is confusing doesn't really make any sense.

TV is in general much different since it's made to talk to a broader spectrum of viewers where you absolutely cannot control who's watching it.
Therefore there is more than one intention behind the content they are showing.
In the radio it's completely different in germany at least, barely any Song I know is censored and I've heard songs there with a quite stronger language, because the singer wants to put a message in their words.


But what you say in a nutshell is: "Rate the Picture mature because nobody is breaking rules, even how insignificant it is".
"Because of this silly single detail", which is only the bulge, which states in the AUP as "you may not show in general" and this very clearly.


Try to explain this to Aggro badger or any other Artist who didn't draw a picture with the intention that those who are 18+ are the only ones who can watch it.

I believe it's not possible and I know also other Artists/People that are annoyed because of the badly worded AUP that inhibits the freedom of showing general content to all viewers without consequences.

It's rather hard to tell that the bulge is there, this isn't as cut and dry as I'm sure you'd like but you can't blame the AUP for it. It's the content itself that is vague, not the AUP, but the artists aren't at fault either, it's just difficult to place. I personally think it's tame enough to be clean, you're the one who got up in arms about the rating, for reasons I don't know, as Aggro labelled it as Clean.

I'm sorry about that but I believe the language barrier and the understanding who made the AUP and what it is and should do is making it very difficult to prolong this discussion with you since you are missing my point entirely.

It's not the Artists fault, nor ours. The fault is in the AUP since it doesn't cover cases like this or rather puts them into the wrong rating since nothing in the document states that minor bulges are "general when the other content doesn't show any sexual intention" eventhough it should.

so essentially you want the AUP to be 900 pages so it can cover every situation that can come up? Sometimes you just need to use your own judgement.
