A portrait of Jaqard done by an aquarell pen and simple water colours with tempera for the eyes. As you may notice, there are some minor changes for his scar and his hair. I will do my best to learn of artists like Kaji, Rukis and others how hair looks natural on furry characters. This is the best I can do for now.
Maybe you did notice his more slim frame, as well. The 18th century pirate fox Jaqard is atlethic, but lean. he is a fox after all and was bulked up thanks to my lack of anatomic knowledge in the past and Hogart's infamously useless drawing school book.
This portrait is dedicated and will be shipped to Dr. David Cordingly, the greatest authority on pirates. He inspired my whole life in many aspects and finally I go the privilege to get to know him personally due to my study. Google his name, maybe you have seen him in the special DVD of the first POTC movie. Cordingly was happy and interested in the fact that he does nto only increased my knowledge and caught my attention to the Black Flag for almost two decades but too gave me so much inspiration for my artistic hobby.

I could be poetic here and say something about the window to the soul, but honestly it's always the first thing I notice on any form of character art work. I like how for lack of a better word "match" the character. It's weird I know but that's why I like them. I'm not an artist so I can't say anything but in my opinion but badly drawn eyes or eyes that simply don't suit the character being drawn can really mess up a character
