some practice on thumbnails to just get some Base value's and ideas flowing.
The pictures i used and motion blurred to death can be found here : http://i.imgur.com/iqFG60R.jpg
I'm particularly fond of the first one.
Thanks all for interests in my stuff.
How this practice work's and how you can do it:
It's simple. take a picture with allot of shades of colours really doesn't matter, a single colour or multiple ones.
while keeping these thumbnail size.
Max motion blur them, start grabbing colours here and there, and keep faffing about until an Idea strikes to mind; then start painting it out. increase the size, start refining.
And that all in a 20 minute time frame,
then move on to the next to keep things fresh.
Have fun :D

Improvement is always good! I know that there are some artists that do really well with characters, but suck with backgrounds and vise versa. I've noticed that artists usually tend to stay in or around their comfort zones, I.E. those that are generally good with characters never venture out to improve their backgrounds and gives versa. Its always cool to see the ones that venture out and try to improve in areas that they're weak or think that they need improvement in. ^.=.^
Oh yea, definitely. Certain pieces can have a whole new level added to them when the proper background is applied, and some pieces completely depend on one, so if an artist doesn't want to limit their artistic abilities then being able to draw/paint both is a good idea. x3
