late night doodle I am apparently deciding to post for once
felt like developing ϰ (“Kappa”- K’s Nobody) a bit while I was out of town and have some sketchbook drawings I should scan later … But the story I thought of was that ϰ lives in a nest under some rafters in an abandoned section of TCTNW. Like most Nobodies it has a fascination with hearts- it steals them from the Organization and hoards them in its lair. While usually non-aggressive, it will often follow keyblade wielders at a distance to snipe a few recently freed hearts. It doesn’t steal enough for the Organization to really notice so they generally leave it be, though they regard it as a pest. Of course, ϰ doesn’t actually know what it wants from the hearts it compulsively collects. It generally just chews on them, often until they break. In this scene, its nest has been discovered.

Whoa, I love this idea! I always wanted to know if there was more going on in TCTNW. Birdoges are a good thing to be happening there.
I also really, really like how the hearts are being kept under a little shelf so they don't float away, and how they're lower down the more they've been chewed on.

ϰ loses a lot of hearts from them just DRIFTING AWAY so a place to stash them so they won't do that so much is key to where it chooses to make a nest. If a similar niche cannot be located sometimes it just shoves them under other objects and hopes they stay there (they usually don't HEARTS ARE UNPREDICTABLE). Which is another reason it has to keep collecting them; it loses more than it actually destroys.
And yes they're less prone to escape after they've been gnawed a bit and aw thank you for noticing those details I'm glad you like it! :D

Aww, the mental image of Sora or whoever moving something out of the way and being surprised when a heart floats out from underneath is really cute. I imagine they kind of work like weird balloons, trying to float upwards but still capable of getting stuck. Signs of a ϰ: shove a pile of rubble away, and surprise, there are hearts!
Yesss exactly like weird balloons except they never quite hold still. I was thinking a lot of the lava-lamp-like motion of the ones Ansem was keeping in his lab, though those were in some sort of medium.
ϰ spends a few days in twilight town; someone is surprised when they bust up one of those trash cubes and a heart or three floats out. It's like a squirrel.
