and someone asked on a previous piece for an idea of what the relief looks like. This one presented a bit of a challenge being I wanted to keep it fairly flat for easy matting/framing but also the quarter view proved hard to sculpt:

Eventually I do plan to do a broader range of species, now's your chance to throw a suggestion my way ;).
Tools: coldpress watercolor paper, super sculpey, brush bristles for whiskers, glass eyes, acrylic paint and acrylic ink.

Wow putting it with a background really makes this one stand apart from the others, the blending between the 2D and 3D is great, the fact you actually take the time to put detail into the snowflakes instead of just using white splotches is amazing all it's own. About a different species, I kinda agree that a bird would provide an interesting subject. You have a very wide variety to choose from with some amazing ranges of color. You'd also have a nice challenge with detailing the feathers, and have a great variety of background scenery.
Absolutely gorgeous. There is a sense of realism to these that just can't be acheived with 2D media alone; far from seeming as though they're about to jump off the page, they've been caught in the act of doing so!
Lovely lovely stuff. This a really fantastic niche you've found, and I wouldn't be surprised if you end up paving the way for others.
