90mm Gun Tank T49, a variant of the M41 light tank with an enlarged turret to carry the new semi smoothbore 90mm T132E3 cannon. Trials started on May 5, 1954. The trials were a success but the tank never saw mass production due to lack of interest by the military authorities. It did, however, help lead to the development of the M551 Sheridan.
