Not in the supermodel way, more like the most genuine sort of person you'll ever meet way. I love that Stormy has flaws, and not cliche or overly dramatized ones. She's got real life problems just like everyone else. I can't stand folks that throw tropes into their backgrounds just to seem like they're more edgy or whatnot. One of the finest compliments anyone can give a writer is 'your character feels real'. Everything else is immaterial.

It's why I dislike some book series, because I just can't feel what the author wants me to, and it's largely because I don't believe in their character.

I'm glad I started reading it, and that's rare. Good writers in the fandom are hard to find. Most just think they're good though the truth is rather the opposite. I know I'm a hard reader to please, partly because I have the experience of the writer as well, and a little real world experience with publishing, but even so, everyone thinks they're a brilliant writer.

Regardless, good writing to me must must must have real characters, a believable story and world, and consequences. Everything has an effect, even if it's indirect.
